Japan\u2019s Nikkei 225 gained 0.37% and the Topix rose 0.34%. South Korea\u2019s Kospi advanced 0.97%, while the Kosdaq fell 1.12%. Australia\u2019s S&amp;P\/ASX 200 added 0.42%. Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng climbed 1.72% and China\u2019s CSI 300 rose 0.74%, while Taiwan\u2019s Taiex declined 0.91%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the U.S., markets closed mixed on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 594.83 points, or 1.14%, to a record 52,900.07 after a softer-than-expected June jobs report strengthened expectations of Federal Reserve rate cuts. The S&amp;P 500 ended little changed, while the Nasdaq lost 0.8% as semiconductor stocks extended their decline for a second consecutive session. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF dropped 4.5%, with Teradyne and KLA posting sharp losses. Nvidia fell 1.4%, while Micron declined 5.5%.
