U.S. equity futures were little changed late Tuesday as oil prices and Treasury yields eased amid hopes for a potential de-escalation in the war between the U.S. and Iran.

S&P 500 futures rose 0.02%, while Nasdaq-100 futures gained 0.1%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipped 14 points, or 0.03%.

During Tuesday’s regular session, the Dow fell 0.4%, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.5% for its fourth consecutive positive session. The tech-heavy index reached a new intraday record and closed at an all-time high. The S&P 500 edged lower but remained about 0.7% below its record.

In Asia-Pacific trading, South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.66% and the Kosdaq rose 0.54%. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 was flat, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined 0.68%. Mainland China’s CSI 300 slipped 0.13%. Japan’s markets were closed for a holiday.

Brett Ewing, chief market strategist at First Franklin Financial Services, said he expects the S&P 500 to reach 8,200 by year-end, raising his previous 8,000 target.

President Donald Trump said U.S. and Iranian officials held a three-hour meeting at the United Nations, describing it as “very good.”

Oil prices fell roughly 1%, while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the U.S. is considering restricting diesel exports amid elevated fuel prices.

Investors will also monitor earnings from General Mills, Paychex and H.B. Fuller on Wednesday.
